John Force, legendary drag racing champion. Baldock's Co. tinted his museum (no longer open to the public), the "John Force Racestation". Prior to the tint installation, the showroom was basically an oven, the cars were burning hotter than the drag races! We cooled it down and it looks fantastic.
Lynn & brother Howard were tinting an all-night coffee shop in San Bernardino. It was late, the place was empty. As Lynn was preparing the entrance doors, in pulls this station wagon with piano keyboards on the sides. Lynn's proceeding to mask and prep the doors for liquid tint, when out of the station wagon comes Liberace! Lynn was blocking the entrance, and so he opened the door to let Liberace in the coffee shop, and he'll never forget that gracious and friendly "Thank you!" from Liberace as he made his way to the coffee counter (the booths were blocked off as they were being tinted). He didn't even complain about the smell of the flow-on...he drank his coffee like a man!
When Dennis "Ace" Baldock liquid tinted Rock Hudson's Palm Springs home, Rock went out for lunch. When he returned, Dennis said in a cool tone of voice, "By the way Rock, there's a message for you by the phone."
Jerry Moen, fellow pioneer trained by Dennis Baldock, liquid tinted Moe Howard's place on Thrasher Avenue in Los Angeles in the 1960's. As Jerry was hanging drop cloths outside to shade the windows, Moe was right there helping him hang the tarps. Pleased with the liquid tint job, Moe handed Jerry a $2 tip...enough to buy a good lunch back then!
Another great Jerry Moen story -- in the 60's, Jerry Moen and Pat Pasenheim proceeded to flow-tint the Beach Boys' limousine, and all their personal cars, and their wive's cars. They (Jerry & Pat) would pick up and deliver the cars, and the Beach Boys, who loved the liquid tint that was being used on all their vehicles, gave Jerry & Pat free use of their limousine. Pat & Jerry would sit in the back of the limo, and their helper would put on the chauffeur's hat and cruise Redondo Beach, picking up hitchhikers. They'd say, "Smile, you're on Candid Camera!" (a 1960's TV show, where they caught people by surprise with hidden cameras), And the hitchhikers would believe it, because why else would a limo be picking them up!!!
Host of the 80's late-night political talk show, "The Hot Seat", Wally George advertised Lynn Baldock's window tint videos ("Speed Filming for the Do-It-Yourself-er", "Speed Filming for the Professional", and "Liquid Glass Coatings"), the total package to become a System-Kote dealer.
Lynn went on a live broadcast on "The Home Show" with hostess Jessie Lovelady, marketing the benefits of his System-Kote process.
Here's a Baldock's Blooper: One of our Finland System-Kote dealers, Jucca, called us, excited because he had a Hollywood prop car he needed to have flow tinted, but was a little nervous about doing it himself. The reason they didn't want window film is because it was "candy glass", not real glass. Film wouldn't stick to it. Lynn told Jucca, "No problem, the liquid will work!". So, Lynn and Jucca are off to Hollywood! They arrived on the set for the movie "Mafia!". Having a good time, and the windows were all masked; they loaded the flow machine. Then, they shot the windows with liquid tint, and the windows melted! They left with a big mess, no money, and their tails between their legs, humiliated!
